Take an almost-autumn stroll on the Bluestone

Posted:

GLEN JEAN -- As the season starts to change, so does the flora and fauna seen in this area. Some birds begin migrations and the leaf color change can be seen here and there as some trees begin their preparation for the winter season. But autumn is not fully here yet and this can be an especially nice time to get outside.

Join a ranger for a guided hike in the gorge of the Bluestone River on Saturday, September 15 from 10:00 am-11:30 am. This leisurely, river-side walk is a fun way to experience the out-of-doors and learn more about these changes in the natural world that surround us.

This program is also a good place to find out more about the people who shaped our past too. Meet at the base of the Pipestem Resort State Park tramway for this 2.0 mile round-trip walk into the Bluestone National Scenic River. Bring $2.00 for the return tram ride. Wear comfortable walk shoes for this guided walk.
