WELCH (WVVA) - A man found guilty in the shooting death of his wife could spend up to 11 years behind bars for the 2011 shooting death of his wife.

Victor Horn, 45, received 5 years for wanton endangerment, 1-5 years for child neglect and 1 year for involuntary manslaughter in connection with the February 2010 incident in which his wife -- 32-year-old Madeline Horn -- was fatally shot in the head at their McDowell County home.

Horn had claimed he accidentally shot his wife while posing for a photo while holding a shotgun. Horn said the flash startled him and caused him to pull the trigger.

The couple's son, who was 12 at the time, was present at the time of the shooting.

A McDowell County jury found Horn guilty of involuntary manslaughter in July. He was originally charged with first-degree murder.
