UPDATE: (WVVA) - The victim of an accident in the Alderson area of Greenbrier County has died.
Sheriff Jim Childers said in a statement Tuesday night that Carol Sue Adkins, of Meadow Bridge, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Adkins apparently lost control of her vehicle, veering off the road, ultimately striking a tree.

ALDERSON (WVVA) - An accident in Greenbrier County has left a woman in serious condition.
The crash occurred Tuesday on Route 12, outside Alderson. Police say a woman drove her vehicle off the left side of the road, struck a mailbox crossed the road and struck a tree on the right side.
Route 12 was closed for more than one hour as crews cleared the scene. The victim was transported to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
