W.Va. girl dies after being left in hot car

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -- A Wood County girl is dead after she was left in a hot car.

Sheriff Jeff Sandy tells media outlets that the girl was found in the car around 5:30 p.m. Thursday near the Aqua Isles Trailer Court.

The temperature on Thursday reached 89 degrees.

Sandy says the girl was 2 or 3 years old. He didn't identify her.

Police haven't determined how long the girl was in the car.

The investigation is continuing. No charges have been filed.
