BRUSHFORK (WVVA) - The driver involved in a fatal head-on collision in Mercer County has been charged with DUI causing death.
According to the criminal complaint, 31-year-old Eric Perdue of Bluefield smelled of alcohol at the scene of the crash on Route 123 near Brushfork Tuesday night and admitted to police he had a lot to drink.
Witnesses said Perdue, who was driving a white pickup truck, crossed the center line and struck a blue Chevy Cobalt driven by Sherri Watkins head-on. Watkins was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two passengers in the Cobalt were also injured.
Perdue has been released on $5,000 bond.
