OAK HILL (WVVA) - The 22-year-old man that shot four people -- including two state troopers -- before being killed by officers in Clay County had a criminal background in Fayette County.

According to a copy of Luke Silas Baber's criminal record obtained by WVVA News, Baber pleaded guilty to domestic battery and obstructing an officer in December 2009. He was arrested for fighting with his father and threatening both of his parents with what was later discovered to be a BB gun.

In the criminal complaint, Trooper JL Milam reported that Baber said he pulled the BB gun hoping police officers would kill him.

Additional charges of domestic assault and simple possession were dismissed.

Earlier this year, in January, Baber was arrested for trying to cash a check he stole from his parents and made out to himself. He told police he needed money to pay off a debt.
