LEWISBURG, W. Va (WVVA)-- William J. Livesay Sr. retired from his position as Greenbrier County Clerk on Tuesday.

He attended his last commission meeting as the County Clerk, and the commission presented him with a painting of the courthouse by Lewisburg artist Jeanne Brennaman along with their well-wishes.

"For when it's cold outside," chuckled commissioner Karen Lobban, "and you don't have to dig your car out [of the snow] and come see us here anymore."

At the commission meeting, the new clerk Robin Loudermilk was sworn in by a judge. The rest of the staff were re-sworn in after her.

County citizens as well as the entire commission expressed how much they would miss Livesay after his departure.
