BECKLEY (WVVA) - The Raleigh County Relay for Life has exceeded its fund-raising goal.
The event raised more than $107,000 this year, passing the goal by more than $3,500.
Event chair Carrie Lawrence says 48 teams totaling 815 people participated in the rain-soaked event last month.
The Raleigh County Cancer Center raised just over $12,000, making it the highest-ranking team.
Plans are already underway for next year's relay -- including some fund-raising events scheduled for October.
