Driver caution urged as school buses return to road

Posted:

BECKLEY (WVVA) - It's time for students to return to bus stops, and officials are urging motorists to use caution.

The Raleigh County Sheriff's Department will be patrolling Friday morning as school begins there. In some areas of the county, the speed limit will decrease from 55 to 15 mph.

Drivers who are pulled over in school zones could lose up to six points on their licenses.

Sheriff Steve Tanner says last year officers saw an increase in drivers passing school buses that were picking up or dropping off children.
