UPDATE: Examiner says skull of Native American descent

UPDATE: PRINCETON (WVVA) - The state Medical Examiner's office says a skull found by workers in Princeton Monday is older, of Native American descent, and has no forensic value in relation to open criminal investigations.

The skull was found Monday morning by workers clearing brush in the Greasy Ridge Road area.

WVVA's Rachel Lucas will have more details this evening on WVVA News.

PRINCETON (WVVA)--- State Police in Mercer County think that workers in Princeton may have found a human skull while clearing brush.

State Police in the Princeton detachment say that the possible skull was found near Greasy Ridge Road.

It is not confirmed that the find is a skull.

According to State Police, the possible skull was sent to the state medical examiner, who has since sent it to the Smithsonian Museum seam to try and confirm the item.
