FAIRLEA (WVVA)- One of West Virginia's favorite celebrities celebrates his birthday at the Grand Stand on the State Fair grounds.
You can help West Virginia's America's Got Talent Winner Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. celebrate his birthday this weekend and see him perform in concert for free! Murphy, who turns 38 August 11th, is headlining The State Fair of West Virginia in Lewisburg this Sunday night, and stocking area food pantries in the process.
The State Fair and show sponsor the West Virginia Lottery are offering a buy one ticket, get one free promotion with your canned food donation, to help replenish state food banks that saw their stock wiped out after statewide power outages earlier this summer.
To take advantage of the Landau Buy One Get One Free offer, just bring your non-perishable food item to the State Fair box office Sunday prior to the concert.
Landau's State Fair appearances follows his long string of sold out performances across the USA, including recent appearances at the California State Fair and co-headlining with the legendary Temptations in Detroit. Landau and his big band will perform a special version of "Country Roads, Take Me Home" retitled "Funky Roads" as part of his State Fair of West Virginia concert Sunday night.
With your food donation, you will receive two grandstand tickets for just $12.00 or $18.00 for a pair track seats, by far the lowest prices of any of Murphy's area concert appearances. Fair officials are hopeful that the extra low price will both help stock food pantries, and give residents with families and on fixed incomes the chance to see Murphy perform.
