SPANISHBURG, W.Va (WVVA)- A McDowell woman's family is still seeking justice two years after their loved one was murdered.
Friday marks two years since Crystal Dawn Cantrell went missing. Four days later, her family found her body near Spanishburg in Mercer County during a search of the area. They had spotter her car, and knew they were close.
Cantrell was last seen alive in Welch. After she went missing, police began interviewing a person of interest in the case-- the last person Cantrell was known to have been with before the crime.
But the trail ran cold, and still no arrests have been made.
Cantrell's family spoke to WVVA Thursday and they said they said they had no closure. Her sister, Annette Key, says she feels "upset, disappointed, and angry" the case has not been solved. "It just takes such a toll on our family," she said. "It's a nightmare every day justice is not served... I mean, she didn't have to die. She had a good life."
Key said while her sister was living, she was "the glue to [their] family" and full of life and spirit. "She would do anything for anybody," said Key. "I know she can not rest in peace until an arrest is made."
Key asks anyone who has unreported information to immediately call the West Virginia State Police. "There is still a murderer on the loose," she said.
But through all of this, Key says the family still maintains hope. "I am not going to let this go," she said. "Until justice is served, I will not give this up."
