PRINCETON (WVVA) - The Rays took a 5-4 lead in the race for the 2012 Mercer Cup with their 4-3 win over Bluefield at Hunnicutt Tuesday night.
The Rays jumped out to a 3-0 lead on the bats of Reid Redman and John Alexander, but the Jays would battle back in the seventh, tying the contest at 3-3.
Brandon Martin would drive home the winning run for the Rays in the bottom of the ninth, giving his squad the lead in the Cup race.
With only two more cross-county games left to play, a win Wednesday night would give Princeton the 2012 Mercer Cup.
