Fayette man hospitalized after shooting incident

ANSTED (WVVA) - A Fayette County man was hospitalized early Monday after being shot in the leg.

The incident occurred around 1:29 a.m. in the Ansted area. Police were notified when the victim -- 27-year-old Josh Treadway of Oak Hill -- arrived at Plateau Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his lower leg.

The victim identified a suspect to police. Deputies located and spoke to the alleged suspect as well as other potential witnesses. No charges have been filed at this time.

The victim was transported to Raleigh General Hospital where he was expected to undergo surgery later Monday. His condition is unknown at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.
