TAZEWELL COUNTY (WVVA)-- Tazewell County officials are cracking down on the possession and distribution of synthetic marijuana.
As of July 1, 2012, the Virginia Law pertaining to the possession and distribution of synthetic marijuana changed. Any drug compounded with the intent to emulate the synthetic marijuana will be illegal and that drug is subject to the same punishment of synthetic marijuana.
The Tazewell County Narcotics Task Force and the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office and towns in the county will be strictly enforcing the new law.
Tazewell officials will be delivering a memo to each merchant in the county advising them of the changes in the law.
