W.Va. Ethics Commission wants ex-mayor to pay fine

Posted:

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVVA) -- The West Virginia Ethics Commission wants to force a former Dunbar mayor to pay a court-ordered fine.

The Charleston Daily Mail reports commissioners decided Thursday to hire an attorney to pursue the debt collection.

In April, Kanawha Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey ordered Roger Wolfe to pay more than $25,000 in fines stemming from a July 2011 ethics ruling. The commission had fined Wolfe $15,000 and ordered him to repay the city more than $5,700 in unauthorized expense reimbursements, plus about $5,700 in legal costs.

Wolfe has vowed repeatedly not to pay the fine.
