Wade Center could close doors permanently

Posted:

BLUEFIELD W.Va (WVVA)-- The Wade Center's summer program ended Thursday and this program could be their last.

The Wade Center may not be able to reopen their doors if they do not come up with the funding to continue operating.

DHHA requires the center to raise three months of operating pay to become licensed. This regulation is state mandated. The Wade Center needs to raise $81,000.

Director Jessica McDaniel is asking the community to help out. She says the Wade Center is a place for kids to do their homework, eat a meal, and participate in activities.

If you would like to make a donation to the Wade Center you can call at 304-323-3777 or visit their web site at wadecenter.com.

The doors will be closed in the fall if the money is not raised.
