Hampton officer on leave amid misconduct probe

Posted:

HAMPTON, Va. (WVVA) -- A veteran Hampton police officer remains on leave as an investigation of misconduct allegations continues.

Police spokesman Cpl. Jason Rice tells The Daily Press that Major Kenneth R. Seals and two other officers were placed on administrative leave with pay on Feb. 23.

Lt. James R. Crotts retired April 1 and Cpl. Christopher Lyon was returned to "full duty status" on July 23.

Rice would not provide details of the investigation because it's a personnel matter.

The Virginia State Police is conducting the investigation. Spokeswoman Michelle Anaya says the findings will be given to the prosecutor's office
