Buchanan County, Va (WVVA) - A VDOT worker is killed while on the job near Garden Creek Road in Buchanan County.
Carlos Ellis Keen, 47, of Oakwood was a 29 year veteran of the Virginia Department of Transportation.
According to Sergeant Michael Conroy of the Virginia State Police, Ellis was driving a 2012 Cat Backhoe when he was hit from behind by a tractor trailer driven by Trevor Cole, 25, of Whitewood, Va.
Police say the amber warning lights were working properly on the backhoe.
The fatal crash is still under investigation.
