BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) - Mountain State University is inviting employers to its Beckley campus to recruit 132 faculty and staff being laid off in September.
The job fair is scheduled for Aug. 7. It will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the John W. Eye Conference Center.
The job cuts were announced after the regional Higher Learning Commission withdrew Mountain State's accreditation, citing leadership, organizational and integrity issues. The private university plans to appeal. Its accreditation remains in place during the appeals process.
Mountain State officials say the Aug. 7 career fair is just 1 of many events being organized to assist employees and students.
