It's been a hot summer across the Two Virginias thus far, and people looking for relief from the heat have been flocking to local pools to cool off. A large number of pool-goers this summer means lots of more business for pools, like the Princeton City Pool. According to pool manage Ronnie Olson, his pool has been packed, and he's
"probably had four to five hundred people here every day."
Despite seeing seven days of ninety degrees or higher so far in Mercer County, this summer has had its cooler days, and that means less people in the pool.
"Since we had that little cold spell it really cut down on business and lately we had the rain it kinda cut down, but before that we've probably been as packed as we've been since I got here."
That time has been several years, when Olson
"life guarded here when I was in college, so probably within the past six years, this has been the best summer we've had."
Daily passes to the Princeton City Pool are sold for $4. Children five years and under get in for free. Seasonal passes are also available, and the pool closes for the season on August 18th.
