MSU basketball coach among layoffs

BECKLEY (WVVA) - With the inclusion of Mountain State University's head basketball coach among those laid off by the school on Monday, the school's basketball program has essentially come to an end.

Bob Bolen, coach and athletic director of at the school, learned of his termination -- effective Sept. 21 -- while in North Carolina Monday, the Register-Herald reports.

In January, Bolen's 479th win, made him the winningest men's coach in West Virginia.
