Lady Gaga Inspired a Local Anti-Bullying Music Video

Posted:

Melissa McKinney, the owner of Stages Music School in Princeton, her sister Lori, along with the band Miss Behavin and nine local dancers are taking a stand against bullying by filming a music video to the song "Born this way" by Lady Gaga. The song was chosen after the name of her foundation, the Born this way foundation. McKinney says that the way Lady Gaga uses her foundation to counter bullying and other behaviors is inspiring.

"I think for me personally, and some of these young artists, its very important that Lady Gaga uses her voice to speak about things she believes in. The foundation she created, the Born this Way foundation, travels all over the world educating youth about the importance of respecting one another, the importance of tolerance, and respect for diversity. So everyone at Stages and around Stages are committed to these values."

McKinney says that although this is a music video, it teaches an important lesson.

"I think all the kids working on this video have been affected by being bullied. Every kid that is in school today knows what it is like to be picked on. Its so important to us as artists and grown-ups to us our music and creativity to speak out against issues like that."

The video was shot and will be edited by Kenny Quiller of KQII films in Charlotte, North Carolina. He says it will take about five hours to edit, and the finished product will be available to view on YouTube in about two weeks.
