PRINCETON (WVVA) - Princeton Senior High School's longtime football coach Ted Spadaro has resigned, WVVA Sports has confirmed.
Spadaro told the team of his decision on Monday.
The official announcement will be made at Tuesday's meeting of the Mercer County Board of Education.
Spadaro has been head coach of the Tigers since 1989. Spadaro's wife tells WVVA Sports her husband is only resigning as coach.
There's no official word at this time on who will fill the vacancy.

" It is with a heavy heart that I am resigning as Head Football Coach at Princeton Senior High School. I have truly enjoyed the challenges and accomplishments over the the past 23 years. I love Tiger football, the competition, and most of all, my players. I appreciate the support from the community, coaches, players, and boosters through the good times and especially the tough times. For now, I look forward to spending more time with my family."
