WAR (WVVA) - A McDowell County community paid final respects to its mayor Monday.
Tom Hatcher, the mayor of War who police say was murdered by his daughter-in-law and her brother, was buried following funeral services at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in War.
Hatcher was found dead in his home last Tuesday after he failed to show up for work. He was 72 years old.
Police initially said no foul play was suspected, but made the announcement on Friday that Rebecca Hatcher -- wife of Tom's son John -- and her brother Earl Click, had been charged with first-degree murder in the mayor's death.
