CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today, in accordance with a presidential proclamation, ordered all U.S. and state flags displayed at state facilities be immediately lowered to half-staff as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated in Aurora, Colo. July 20, 2012.

"I cannot begin to imagine the overwhelming feeling of loss, the heartache and the uncertainty this tragedy has brought to those involved," said Gov. Tomblin. "Joanne and I offer our most heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the victims. We extend our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time."

Flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on July 25, 2012.
