Wrestling Night Brings Cheers to a Local Camp

Posted:

The West Virginia Elks Major Project Camps is a camp designed for people with disabilities. It is a week-long program and tonight was wrestling night, with the campers cheering the performers on. Camp director Taffy Hower says events like this make the experience enjoyable, and more events are scheduled.

"Friday night is Christmas, Santa Clause comes, all the campers get a gift. We went bowling today, we go swimming, we do camp stories at night, just lots of fun camping activities."

The camp had a special visitor today, Miss West Virginia Kaitlin Gates. She even climbed into the ring, signed autographs, and took pictures with many of the campers.
