BECKLEY (WVVA) - A tree service worker remained in critical condition Thursday after part of a tree measuring 40-50 inches in diameter fell on him.
The accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday on Reservoir Road. A crew from Jon's Tree Service was working to remove a fallen tree when a large part of the tree fell on the worker.
The unidentified victim was unconscious when emergency crews arrived, but was alert when transported from the scene to Raleigh General Hospital.
The victim has since been transported to Charleston Area Medical Center via helicopter with a crushed pelvis.
