LYNCHBURG, Va. - After four years and several attempts, Liberty University has its own ZIP code.
Liberty officials learned last month that the U.S. Postal Service approved the school's latest application.
The new ZIP code is 24515. It replaces the former ZIP code, 24502.
Liberty vice president Johnnie Moore says that the university sought its own ZIP code because of steady enrollment growth.
Liberty first submitted its application four years ago. Liberty Postal Services director Bob Boyer says the school resubmitted the application three times before it was approved.
