WELCH (WVVA) - The trial of a McDowell County man who blamed his wife's shooting death on a camera flash began Monday.

Victor Horn, 46, is charged with murder in the Feb. 2011 death of his wife, Madeline Horn.

According to a previous report, Victor Horn told investigators he was holding a 30-30 rifle when he was posing for a picture with his 12-year-old son.

According to Horn's statement, when the flash of the camera went off, it startled him, and he pulled the trigger.

Madeline Horn was found with a single gunshot wound to the head.
