BECKLEY (WVVA) - A local Girl Scout has been honored for her cookie-selling efforts.

Jasmine Earp was awarded a gold medal Saturday for selling 5,200 boxes of Girl Scout cookies.

This is Jasmine's second year receiving the gold medal.

Not only did Jasmine sell more than 5,000 boxes -- she did so while overcoming two brain surgeries. Jasmine battles Myoclonic Dystonia, a disorder which affects her fine motor skills.

More on Jasmine's story

Jasmine sold the most cookies in the Black Diamond organization, which includes troops from West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio and Maryland.
