CAMP CREEK (WVVA) - Northbound traffic on Interstate 77 stalled near the Camp Creek exit in Mercer County Friday following a tractor-trailer accident.
The crash occurred around 2 p.m. when a tanker truck traveling northbound apparently jackknifed, overturning on the shoulder.
The tanker was empty.
The driver of the truck was transported to Raleigh General Hospital. The extent of the injuries are unknown at this time.
The driver was said to be alert at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
