FOLLOW UP: Suspected drug dealer apprehended

RICHLANDS (WVVA) - A suspected drug dealer is now off the streets and behind bars.

Police caught 26-year-old Jeffery Allen Vance, also known as 'WeeZee,' during a traffic stop in the Richlands area Thursday night.

Vance now faces charges of provide false information to police, driving while revoked, DUI and refusal to submit to a breath test -- in addition to the previous charges of distribution of Schedule II narcotics and conspiracy to distribute.

"We are pleased to announce that Mr. Vance has been captured and is being held at the Regional Jail," Tazewell County Sheriff Brian Hieatt said in a news release. "Mr. Vance, although not violent, has had numerous confrontations with law enforcement. There was a lot of hard work put in by all of the law enforcement agencies in the county to bring Mr. Vance into custody."

Vance is currently being held at the Southwest Regional Jail on two bonds -- $2,500 for the drug charges and $3,500 for the new charges.
