Greenbrier County Residents Asked to Report Damage

Posted:
GREENBRIER COUNTY (WVVA) -Greenbrier County officials have received an overwhelming amount of inquiries about whether or not its citizens would receive federal aid from FEMA.

Greenbrier County Homeland Security and Emergency Management is collecting preliminary damage assessment information to report to the state. Greenbrier County residents, businesses, and governmental agencies are asked to report their storm-related damages and costs immediately.

As of Tuesday, July 10th, WV residents have not been declared eligible for individual cost reimbursements from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

All building and structural damage should be reported to GCHSEM at (304)646-5627. Damage does NOT include tree removal or broken fences, but does include outbuildings.

Businesses that suffered physical damages to their building, stock or inventory also need to report the following information to GCHSEM:

-Describe physical damages to your business
-Estimate of damages
-Was the damage covered by insurance?
-What is the estimate of the economic loss to your business due to lack of power compared to normal sales?

Email this information to Al Whitaker, gcema@greenbriercountyema.net or fax to (888)880-6185.

Direct help for businesses may also become available thru the Small Business Administration low or no-interest loans.
