SUMMERS COUNTY (WVVA)-- Staff are doing their best to manage while power is out at the Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hildale.
The power has been out for a week. The facility also had no water for two days, but was able to provide it with an emergency supply stock.
The facility is currently running on a main generator and several portable generators. The dining room has been turned into a cooling area for those residents that need air conditioning.
Staff members say it's important to check in on the elderly especially during the heat wave.
