2 W.Va. State vice presidents let go in shakeup

INSTITUTE, W.Va. (AP) -- West Virginia State University is undergoing an administrative shakeup under its new president.

Vice president John Berry tells the Charleston Daily Mail that he and vice president John Berry were notified June 1 that they wouldn't remain in their positions.

The newspaper says university spokeswoman Pat Dicksinon confirmed that Bryce and Berry are no longer vice presidents at the Institute school.

President Brian Hemphill declined to comment on personnel decisions. He says an announcement will be made this week about vice president changes.

West Virginia State's Board of Governors named Hemphill as the university's 10th president in May. He succeeded longtime President Hazo Carter, who retired following a no-confidence vote by faculty. Carter remains at the university as president emeritus.
