KIMBALL (WVVA) - On Wednesday alone, the Five Loaves and Two Fishes food bank in McDowell County, just outside Kimball, was able to provide help for 680 individuals in need since last Friday's damaging wind storms knocked out power to thousands.
Seven tractor-trailers with bottled water have arrived come to the food bank. For every individual household they are providing two cases of water.
Members of the National Guard and local Walmart employees were on hand to help distribute supplies.
The food bank also has plenty of food and a cool down area for those needing to escape the heat.
Director Linda McKinney says the food bank has teamed up with several agencies including Operation Blessing, Homeland Security, the Red Cross and Salvation Army to be able to provide aid.
