HINTON (WVVA) - Emergency officials say food donations, serving trays and disposable utensils are needed in Summers County.
Donations can be made at the Summers County Volunteer Fire Department Station 13, on the Hinton bypass.
Summers County 911 says there are five fire departments with bottled water and ice, as it becomes available: Sandstone, Talcott, Forest Hill, Pipestem JB-Nimitz and Summers County VFDs.
Sandstone, Talcott, Forest Hill and Summers County VFDs also have food stations set up. About 1,000 meals are being served every day.
Cooling stations in Summers County have been established at the Council on Aging Senior Center, Talcott Fire Department, Summers County Memorial Building and Shepard's Care Worship Center.
A shelter is open at Summers County Middle School gym, where showers are available from 2-6 p.m. Bring your own soap and towels.
If you have spoiled food, Southern Sanitations has set up trash locations on Route 3 above the hospital, next to the concrete plant, and at their Green Sulphur office.
