A heat advisory is in effect for the western half of the West Virginia, from the Northern Panhandle to the southern coalfields until 7 p.m. Thursday. The National Weather Service says the region will see temperatures in the mid- to upper 90s and high humidity.
Each utility has brought in several thousand workers from other states to help restore electricity. They say some customers won't power until late Sunday.
