Gas prices drop for W.Va. holiday travelers

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Good news for West Virginians hitting the road this 4th of July.

The Triple A's weekly look at gas prices found the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is now $3.37, down 8.7 cents from a week ago. West Virginia's pump prices are nearly a nickel higher than the U.S. average, but they're more than 20 cents lower than a year ago.

Across the state, gas prices range from a low of $3.26 a gallon in Clarksburg to a high of nearly $3.50 a gallon in Martinsburg.
