Rahall tours storm damage, offers FEMA advice

Posted:

BECKLEY (WVVA) - Congressman Nick Rahall got a birds-eye view of the storm damage in southern West Virginia Monday.

The National Guard took Rahall on a helicopter tour of the region, flying over Greenbrier, Monroe, Raleigh, Mingo and Fayette counties.

Rahall says he's never seen a disaster in West Virginia like this going into the summer.

The congressman says FEMA will be coming to the region this week, but where they'll be stationed is not yet known.

Rahall recommends those that suffered property damage to document everything -- take photos and save any receipts you needed to buy during the power outage so FEMA may reimburse you.
