National Guard deployed in W.Va.

CHARLESTON, WV – Members of the West Virginia National Guard have been deployed across the state since Friday night to aid recovery efforts following a line of severe storms that swept through the area.
Military liaison teams have been sent into Wirt, Wayne, Wood, Jackson, Mason, Putnam, Kanawha, Lincoln, Fayette, Raleigh, Greenbrier, Webster, Upshur and Grant counties to work with local and state authorities to assess damage and coordinate the response of the WVNG.
Crews are currently working with the Department of Forestry and the Department of Highways to reopen roads blocked by debris. Guard members are also out providing fuel and generator support to some of the state's critical infrastructure such as water treatment facilities, hospitals, nursing homes and cooling stations set up throughout the state.
In addition to fuel and power, 19 Health and Wellness teams have been dispatched to check on local citizens assist state and county Emergency Operations Centers in assessing the need for supplies in some of West Virginia's remote areas.
