Jays drop both games of doubleheader; Miners fall

BRISTOL (WVVA) - Thursday's twin bill in Bristol was doubly disappointing for the Bluefield Blue Jays.

The Jays dropped the first game, 8-6 to the Sox. Bluefield didn't touch the home plate in game 2, losing 5-0.

The Jays are now 1-2 following the losses. They will look to rebound Friday when they open their home schedule by hosting Johnson City at Bowen Field.

In other baseball action, the West Virginia Miners continued to slide, losing 6-4 to Slippery Rock. The teams square off again tonight.
