PRINCETON (WVVA) - The new Oakvale Elementary School will be built by a local contractor.
The Mercer County Board of Education awarded the contract to Swope Construction at Thursday evening's meeting.
The board is required to pick the lowest bidder.
Superintendent Dr. Deborah Akers said once the move is approved by the School Building Authority, demolition should begin on the old school by July 1. Construction is scheduled to begin in September.
