COAL MOUNTAIN (WVVA) - The Wyoming County Sheriff's Department has released more details in Wednesday's homicide.
Sheriff Randall Aliff says 57-year-old Eskar Lee Hurley, of Simon, was fatally shot in the back of the head. His body was discovered Wednesday afternoon off Coal Mine Road in the Long Branch area.
Authorities received the call at 12:48 p.m. Aliff says he believes the alleged crime occurred in broad daylight.
The suspect in the shooting remains at large. Aliff says the shooting does not appear to be a random act. Sheriff's deputies are following up on leads.
