Wyoming County man convicted on drug charges

PINEVILLE (WVVA) - A Corinne man was convicted by a Wyoming County Jury of two counts of delivery of a controlled substance on Tuesday.

Michael Garrett Shifflette, Jr. 27, was convicted of two of three counts he was charged with.  The first conviction was delivery of Oxycodone, the second count was delivery of Opana.

The trial lasted two days beginning on Monday, with the jury reaching its verdict Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. Shifflette faces 2-30 years in prison, and will be sentenced at a later date following a presentence investigation.

Based on the motion of Prosecuting Attorney Rick Staton, Mr. Shifflette was remanded to custody, and will remain in the Southern Regional Jail pending sentencing.
