Princeton tops Nitro to win AAA crown

For two years, Princeton's seniors dreamt of getting back to the state tournament. This year they not only did that, but they came out as champions.

The Tigers fell behind early to Nitro 4-0. But a six run top of the sixth put the Tigers ahead beating Nitro 7-4.

J.C. Pennington pitched in Thursday's semi-final game and with Friday's rain, the right-hander was able to get adequate rest to pitch again Sunday.

Princeton fell to Nitro in the semi-final two years ago, but after falling behind early the late rally sparked the team.

Sunday's championship is Princeton's first in school history.
