Wyoming East wins AA State Title

Patience was the key for Wyoming East. And in the end a passed ball was all the Warriors needed as they claimed the AA Championship beating Herbert Hoover 1-0.

Derek Thornton pitched a complete game for the Warriors and Johnathan Culicerto scored the game winning run in the top of the 7th.

Throughout the game both teams put several runners in scoring position, but in the end Culicerto was the only man to cross the plate.

The Warriors graduated six seniors last season and lost in the championship game last year against Chapmanville. This year, three seniors graduated prior to the first pitch at Appalachian Power Park and in the end the outcome was better for Wyoming East than last years.
