Coming off a division-winning season, the West Virginia Miners had high hopes for 2012.
Things started off as well as they could have, with the Miners sweeping a doubleheader over Slippery Rock.
In the first game, pitching was the big story, as Sam Lewis threw a seven inning no-hitter.
The Miners won, 5-0.
The second game was interesting.
The score was tied in the bottom of the 7th, when Slippery Rock walked in the game-winning run.
The Miners and Sliders finish their series Thursday.
