Summers County - 2012 Primary recap

HINTON (WVVA) - Democratic voters have chosen a candidate to compete for Sheriff in this fall's general election.

Gary Wheeler received 46 percent of the vote in Tuesday's primary. He will face incumbent Sheriff Edward Dolphin in November.

In other county contests, Tony Williams won the Dem nomination for November's County Commission race, besting Leonard Anderson by a narrow margin, 1,079 to 1,037.

Williams will face GOP nominee Jeff Lyon who topped Geof Tuckerman 280 to 241.

For the office of assessor, Gregory Vandall defeated Benny Dickenson 1,311 to 865.

Jason Angell received 1,343 votes in the race for Conservation District Supervisor, topping incumbent Wallace McGraw's 1,065.
